The growing interest in sustainable development in agricultural production underlines the need to emphasize environmental protection and sustainable production aspects in agricultural study programmes.
The goal of this programme is to train academically well-educated agricultural professionals who are capable to assess the importance of sustainable agricultural production and its environmental integrity and to use information technologies and modern scientific knowledge to improve production technologies in the sector.
There is an opportunity to specialize in 2 directions:
- sustainable plant production;
- sustainable animal production.
Career opportunities
The graduates are able to evaluate the material and economic suitability of the respective production technologies, to estimate the quality and ecological significance of the obtained products, to use the possibilities of modern information technologies, as well as to evaluate the unity of production and environment in sustainable agricultural production.
Bachelor’s degree entitles graduates to continue studies at Master's degree level in Latvia or abroad.
