Course Info

The aim of the program is to enable multimedia research in Latvia and to take part in international academic and applied research in this field, to develop a methodologically sound basis in the field of communication culture research, supporting the research of social communication of Eastern European societies. The program contributes to a wider understanding of the concept of culture in Latvian studies, analysing the practice of the development, dissemination, and interpretation of various forms of communication.


The purpose of the doctoral study programme is to provide doctoral students with the opportunity to study the curriculum and obtain a doctor’s degree in communication science with the corresponding professional, academic, and practical skills.


To develop the following skills of doctoral students during studies:


  • to conduct significant original scientific research using modern methods of empirical data collection and processing;


  • to collect and interpret the results obtained using classical and modern theoretical paradigms;


  • to present research results in conference papers and scientific publications.
